Frequently asked questions
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan supports up to 5 events per month and 50 players with full event registration, check-in, and online payments. No credit card required to sign up.
How does annual billing save money?
Starter annual is $200/year, which is $28 less than 12 months at $19. Pro annual is $525/year, which is $63 less than 12 months at $49. Roughly a 12% discount on either plan.
Do you charge transaction fees on payments collected from members?
Bam Good Time adds no markup on Stripe's processing fee. Payments flow directly from members to your Stripe Connect account on every plan, including Free.
What counts as a player?
A player is anyone on your club roster: everyone you imported from a CSV, invited by email, or who signed up on your club site. It is not only the people who bought a membership, and the count is across the whole club, not per event.
Can I move from Free to Starter or Pro later?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade any time from the admin dashboard. Upgrades take effect immediately, downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period.
Can I run a private club?
Private clubs are available on Starter and Pro. Private clubs hide your subdomain from search engines and require a member account to view events, rosters, and payments.
Do you offer a discount for nonprofits or community centers?
Yes. Email mahjong@bamgoodtime.com with a short note about your group and we will set up a discount on Starter or Pro.
What is Mahjic Verified and is it part of these plans?
Mahjic Verified is a separate $30/year individual subscription at mahjic.org. It adds a blue check on the player leaderboards plus identity-verified ratings. Unrelated to club tiers.
Do I need Pro to run a tournament?
Yes. Tournament creation requires the Pro or Enterprise plan. Pro unlocks multi-round tournaments with automatic pairings, live standings, and unlimited events. Free and Starter clubs can upgrade any time from the admin dashboard to start running tournaments.
What happens if I exceed the player or event limit on Free or Starter?
You will see an upgrade prompt before the limit is enforced. New events past the limit are blocked until you upgrade or remove players from your roster; existing events continue to run.
